Product DetailsTransmission Skid Plate by TeraFlex®. Protect your Jeep’s underpinnings with a TeraFlex skid plate. Made from sturdy mild steel plate, these skid plates will prevent damage to vital components like steering, oil pans or gas tank from errant rocks and stumps.Additional InformationVideoAbout usFeaturesAll-welded constructionMild steel for strength and rigidityNo-drill installationBlack powdercoatKeeps intruders from damaging vital suspension, steering or other components Off-roading is hard on parts, there’s no denying it. But that’s no reason to let your Jeep accrue damage that can keep you from getting back home, just because you decided that you really could jump that gully. A skip plate covering things like the oil pan, differential, steering linkage or the fuel tank is only good sense, especially if you’re in a mood to take your Jeep far from civilization or a tow truck. These skid plates bolt on, and take the abuse. If you bend one, just wait until you get back to the shop and hammer it back into shape. The alternative is trying to make a tie rod out of a sapling or patching a holed fuel tank with a bar of soap. TeraFlex® has been professionally involved with Jeeps since the 1950s and that experience taught them how to make them perform their best. TeraFlex was started in the fall of 1996 to meet the needs of the growing market for heavy duty off road equipment and suspension enhancements. And they’ve maintained a dominant hold on the market since then. TeraFlex was the first aftermarket manufacturer with a suspension system for the TJ Wrangler, and is still the only aftermarket company to offer a solution for the venerable 231 transfer cases low range gearing. In 2001, the entire off road industry was stunned at the CRD60 – an off-road-specific high-pinion 60 differential that took innovation to a new level, reinforcing their position in the industry.
